Our Board
ICCWA is an incorporated, non-government, not-for-profit organisation.
It is made up of corporate and individual members with a wide range of injury interest. Members are from government and non-government agencies, not-for-profit groups, corporate bodies and individuals with an interest in injury prevention.
Management and Governance Structure
ICCWA is governed by a Board of Directors, which is elected from, and by members at the annual general meeting. Membership of the Board is voluntary. The Council Executive Committee comprising the President, Vice President, and Treasurer, with the assistance of the CEO, oversees the business of the Council. The Chief Executive Officer assists the Executive Committee in the work of the Council and provides support with special projects.
The 2012 AGM will be held on Monday 22nd October 9am-10am at City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street West Perth.

Mr Chris Peck - President
Chris brings to ICCWA a strong knowledge background and network in injury prevention, especially in aquatics. Chris has worked for and cooperated professionally with aquatic safety organisations, industry bodies and government agencies for 19 years. Currently the Community Safety Manager for Surf Life Saving WA, Chris is also a Lead Auditor in Management Systems for ISO 9001, 14001 AND as 4801. Chris is passionate about injury prevention, believing individual and community capacity building is a cornerstone to safety and well being.
Ms Terri-Anne Pettet - Vice President
Terri-Anne has 12 years experience in injury prevention, with a focus on road safety, including roles in: research, policy development, program delivery and administration. Terri-Anne completed a Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion) degree before working as a research assistant. From 1998-2001 Terri Anne worked in regional WA as a Road Safety Officer. Since 2002 she has managed the WA Local Government Association's RoadWise Program. The Local Government and Community Road Safety Program aims to contribute to the elimination of road crashes as a major cause of death and serious injury

Mr David Beattie - Treasurer
David has worked in general and financial management for more than 25 years, most of these in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer. He is currently self employed as a financial and management consultant and has recently joined the board of the Children's Services Support Unit, a WA based not-for-profit organisation. In previous roles David has been Treasurer for the WA Organic Growers Association and the WA branch of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, both for more than 10 years, and a committee member with the Friends of Bold Park for some 5 years. Prior to joining the ICCWA Board in 2007 David was retained as a consultant to review ICCWA's financial reports, policies and procedures.
Dr Rina Cercarelli
Dr Rina Cercarelli has conducted research in the area of injury prevention for the last 22 years. She has recently conducted research on road safety, childhood injury, interpersonal violence, falls prevention, and injuries involving Indigenous people. Her research has been published in a wide range of peer reviewed, international journals, and much of her research has led to significant changes in injury prevention policy in this State and nationally. Previously, she was Director and Deputy Director of the Injury Research Centre at The University of Western Australia and a previous President of the Injury Control Council of Western Australia.
Ms Amberlee Laws
Amberlee graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion in 2003. She is currently the Manager of Mentally Healthy WA’s Act-Belong-Commit Campaign at Curtin University. Amberlee previously worked for the Shire of Meekatharra as a Youth and Recreation Coordinator and more recently for WA Country Health Service as a local Project Officer for the Act-Belong-Commit Campaign in the Wheatbelt. Amberlee's passion is building the capacity of communities to offer opportunities for healthy engagement and thus strengthening community cohesion.
Associate Professor Stacey Waters
Stacey is currently Head of the Child Health Promotion Research Centre at Edith Cowan University and has a strong track record in health promotion intervention research focusing on bullying prevention, mental health promotion, road safety and injury control and social skill development in children and adolescents. Stacey is passionate about the promotion of child and adolescent health and wellbeing and is committed to supporting health professionals in Western Australia to implement evidence-based best practice in promoting health and wellbeing for this vulnerable target group.
