Our Board

ICCWA is an incorporated, non-government, not-for-profit organisation.

It is made up of corporate and individual members with a wide range of injury interest. Members are from government and non-government agencies, not-for-profit groups, corporate bodies and individuals with an interest in injury prevention.

Management and Governance Structure

ICCWA is governed by a Board of Directors, which is elected from, and by members at the annual general meeting. Membership of the Board is voluntary. The Council Executive Committee comprising the President, Vice President, and Treasurer, with the assistance of the CEO, oversees the business of the Council. The Chief Executive Officer assists the Executive Committee in the work of the Council and provides support with special projects.

Mr Chris Peck
President
Chris brings to ICCWA a strong knowledge background and network in injury prevention, especially in aquatics.  Chris has worked for and cooperated professionally with aquatic safety organisations, industry bodies and government agencies for 20 years.  Currently the Community Safety Manager for Surf Life Saving WA, Chris is also a Lead Auditor in Management Systems for ISO 9001,14001 and 4801. Chris is passionate about injury prevention, believing individual and community capacity building is a cornerstone to safety and wellbeing.
 
Mr David Beattie
Treasurer
David has worked in general and financial management for more than 25 years, most of these in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer.  David is currently self employed as a financial and management consultant.  David is also a board member of the Children's Services Support Unit, a WA based not-for-profit organisation.  In previous roles David has been Treasurer for the WA Organic Growers Association and the WA branch of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a committee member with the Friends of Bold Park.  
Associate Professor Stacey Waters
Stacey is currently Head of the Child Health Promotion Research Centre at Edith Cowan University and has a strong track record in health promotion intervention research focusing on bullying prevention, mental health promotion, road safety and injury control and social skill development in children and adolescents.  Stacey is passionate about the promotion of child and adolescent health and wellbeing and is committed to supporting health professionals to implement evidence-based best practice in promoting health and wellbeing for this vulnerable target group.

Ms Amberlee Laws
Amberlee is Manager of Mentally Healthy WA's Act-Belong-Commit Campaign at Curtin University and is passionate about building the capacity of communities to offer opportunities for healthy engagement and thus strengthening community cohesion.
Amberlee previously worked for the Shire of Meekatharra and more recently for the WA Country Health Service as a local Project Officer for the Act-Belong-Commit campaign in the Wheatbelt.

Mr Mark Teale
Mark has over 18 years experience working in the not-for-profit, local government and state government sectors.  His main focus during this time has been working from a community development perspective to build capacity within the community and to assist in the design and implementation of grass roots led responses to issues of local and state significance.  Mark is Senior Manager in Grants and Community Development at Lotterywest and has enormous regard for the contribution and impact the not-for-profit sector and those who work within it make to improve the lives of all West Australians.
Ms Terri-Anne Pettet
Vice President
Terri-Anne has 12 years experience in injury prevention, with a focus on road safety, including roles in research, policy development, program delivery and administration.  Terri-Anne has previously worked in regional WA as a Road Safety Officer and since 2002 she has managed the WA Local Government Association's RoadWise Program.  The Local Government and Community Road Saety Program aims to contribute to the elimination of road crashes as a major cause of death and serious injury.
Dr Rina Cercarelli
Rina has conducted research in the area of injury prevention for the last 22 years.  She has conducted research on road safety, childhood injury, interpersonal violence, falls prevention, and injuries involving Indigenous people.  The research has been published in a wide range of peer reviewed, international journals, and has led to significant changes in injury prevention policy in WA and nationally.  Previously, she was Director and Deputy Director of the Injury Research Centre at UWA and a has been a previous President of ICCWA.
