Capacity Building

Injury Prevention Professional Development and Capacity Building Project

This project is a Department of Health WA funded initiative to provide professional development for people working in community safety and injury prevention in rural and remote areas. The Project aims to build the capacity of health professionals to deliver injury prevention and safety promotion messages to the community and to raise awareness of injury issues.

Activities include rural and remote link-ups, Westlink seminars, videoconferences and an annual conference in a regional centre. As part of the project, ICCWA holds quarterly teleconferences to network with people in the regions. People working in metropolitan and regional areas are encouraged to contact ICCWA to participate in these sessions.

Planning of videoconference seminars, workshops and the annual conference are already underway for 2009 and 2010.   For further information or to participate in this project by providing input into the planning of professional development, please contact Holly Scott on (08) 9420 7212 or email hscott@iccwa.org.au
